Once limited to the realms of Hollywood, motion tracking has become easily easily accessible today. Adobe After Effects comes with three trackers. There’s the original 2D tracker that AE has had for a long time and also the 3D camera tracker introduced in CS6, which analyses your footage to recreate your camera’s movement. After Effects, however, also comes bundled with the Mocha planar tracking application. It’s a separate application, not a plugin, so it gets easily missed by many users, but it can succeed where the others fail....
Viltrox has posted their updated lens roadmap to Weibo and it shows nine new lenses coming between now and next year. Viltrox is traditionally known more for (relatively) inexpensive lens adapters and various accessories, but they’ve actually been making lenses for a couple of years now for various mirrorless systems including Sony, Fuji, Nikon and L mount. The new lens roadmap shows Viltrox’s existing 9 lenses along with 9 new ones, expected to come out over the next year or so....
CP+ was supposed to take place last week, but it was cancelled due to the coronavirus concerns. Still, just like Adobe made its Summit conference online, Olympus has decided to do something similar. They took the presentation they’d prepared for CP+ 2020 and published it on YouTube, and a particularly interesting is the demonstration of the upcoming 150-400mm f/4.5 lens. In the video, photographer Koichiro Saito and the head of Olympus Video Development Division, Setuya Kataoka, discuss a variety of topics....
Panasonic director, Yosuke Yamane, in a video posted to the Panasonic Lumix Video YouTube channel has amongst other things, explained the differences between the goals and target market for the Panasonic GH5 Mark II and the Panasonic GH6 Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. The video was actually posted on May 26th, the day after the official launch, although it seems to have gone largely unnoticed. But it dives a little deeper into how the Panasonic GH5 as a product is diverging into what is essentially two separate product lines aimed at different types of user....
