Today I got an idea for a quick and simple DIY 2-in-1 reflector, and I’d like to share it with you and create my very first DIY article. It has a white and a silver side, it takes two ingredients to make, and it cost me about $20, along with the hot glue gun (this DIY project finally made me buy one). If you already have the hot glue gun, then you’ll make this for even less money....
I used to clean my lenses religiously. Every time before I left the house with the camera, and again when I got back home. These days, my attitude towards it is a little more relaxed. I don’t worry about dust anywhere near as much as I used to. But I still try to avoid cleaning them the wrong way. And yes, there are some wrong ways. Although tilt-shift lenses have many uses, one of the most common for timelapse photographers is miniaturisation. Tilt-shift lenses are expensive, though. Certainly worth the investment for things like architecture or products. But for most of us, who’ll only use it very occasionally, not so much. Most of the time, the look is simulated in post. If you’re using Sigma EF mount lenses with the Sigma MC-21 on Panasonic’s full-frame mirrorless bodies, then your camera is likely going to be forced into APS-C or Super35 mode when attempting to shoot video. With some 3rd party lenses, you don’t get such a restriction and the camera will happily let you shoot full-frame – even if the projection circle doesn’t quite cover the sensor.
