Artificial intelligence has already gone pretty far in face swapping. In fact, there are some deepfake videos that are very difficult to figure out. But Disney Research Studios and ETH Zurich just made it even more precise, and also cheaper than before. And it can be so accurate that it’s kinda creepy. Disney Research Studio published a paper explaining the research and the results they got with the new algorithm. Of course, you can also see some examples in the video above....

SpaceX’s Starlink satellites have been controversial since before the first round of them were launched. Having recently launched more, which is going to keep happening for a while, the debates have sparked up again. There are currently 422 of the anticipated 12,000 (with 30,000 more applied for) Starlink satellites floating around our planet, and they’re already upsetting people. The two main reasons (if we remove all the tinfoil hat conspiracies) are that they will ruin our view of the night sky, which really sucks for astrophotography, and that it will make certain scientific studies all but impossible due to their overpowering brightness relative to the dim lights littered throughout the universe....

In the early 2000s, the world of photography changed forever. Though digital cameras had been widespread since the mid-1990s, the technology did not produce sufficiently high-quality results for professional and serious amateur photographers. Around 2003, however, this changed, and vast swathes of professionals made the jump from analogue to digital, decimating an entire industry in the process. “Companies went from processing in the region of 5,000 rolls of film per day to 20 percent of that in a six-month period; as you can imagine, there were many casualties”, said Professor Steve Macleod, Director of Metro Imaging, a professional photography lab....

A while back Tom Saimon and I took the Godox AD600 for a spin. It was an awesome shoot of a sports trainer, and the results were quite satisfying.
