Last year, the music licensing company Artlist acquired software developers FXhome, creators of the popular HitFilm video editing application, amongst others. Since the acquisition, things have been a little quiet, but Artlist has today announced its first software release under the FXhome by Artlist brand that combines video and image editing along with visual effects, revamping the products they took over in the acquisition. The new update brings with it a new pricing model. Don’t worry, there’s still a 100% free version which includes the basic video editing tools of HitFilm with unlimited exports up to HD and the option to download 10 royalty-free songs, 25 sound effects and 5 templates. But there are also Creator, Pro and Enterprise levels for those with more demanding needs.

The new paid levels will feature educational content with a new “Learn Panel”, which includes tutorial videos and a Creative Library with Artlist assets available as part of each subscription tier. Artlist says that the shift towards the subscription model will allow a wide range of beginner creators to use video editing tools and software, although they say perpetual licenses for those who make the one-time purchase for HitFilm Pro and other FXhome products will still be supported and maintained.

To celebrate the launch. Artlist is giving out special introductory pricing for all paid tiers with up to 23% discount off the regular prices.

Creator will be available at a $9.99 monthly subscription and a $74.99 annual subscription; then $12.99 monthly and $89.99 annually after the promotion periodPro will be available at a $15.99 monthly subscription and a $119.99 annual subscription; then $19.99 monthly and $149.99 annually after the promotion period

The Enterprise level is tailored to organisations along with custom pricing and even more features. You can find out more about the new subscription tiers and what they all include here on the FXhome by Artlist website and if you’re not a fan of the subscription model, you can find the perpetual licenses here.
