Imagine someone casually throwing a box with your brand new pricey lens inside. It makes me angry just thinking about it, and this FedEx dude did exactly this. He threw a package containing a $1,500 lens because he was too lazy to walk the extra 10 or 15 feet, and he was caught on camera as he did it.

Photographer Greg Riegler shared the video on his YouTube channel. He ordered the lens, and his front door camera caught the FedEx guy as he threw it from the lawn onto the concrete steps. Also, Greg explains that the package was signature item so it wasn’t even supposed to be dropped off.

Greg posted the video to Reddit, explaining the case in more detail. “I’ve been in contact with FedEx and the local distribution center. It’s a contractor, and the guy tossing the box seems to be training, which is crazy he already doesn’t care about his job,” he writes. As I mentioned, the package wasn’t supposed to be dropped off. Sadly, the FedEx guys figured it out only after tossing and kicking the box, so they picked it up and left. Thankfully, Greg writes that there was no damage to the lens. “Opened the box and inspected the lens in front of the camera after receiving, everything appears fine!” After watching the video, there’s one thing I don’t understand. The FedEx guy was too lazy to walk to the front door and he just threw the box. But he returned to the van to pick up the tag scanner, and then he walked straight to the door. It makes me wonder: why didn’t he walk to the front door the first time with the package and the tag scanner in his hands, and then put the box on the ground like a normal person? It’s not that hard, dude, really! [via PetaPixel]
