There are certainly plenty of different camera straps in the market, and if you ask me, it’s hard to find the one that’s perfectly safe, yet comfortable enough to wear it all day. Fotcase is a Kickstarter project that promises a strap that will bring the best of both worlds. Its creators claim it’s perfectly safe for your camera, but also for your neck and back.
The Fotcase camera strap is designed with a “special” X-bracing on the back, as the creators describe it. It’s made to distribute the weight of your gear evenly across both shoulders, regardless of whether you’re carrying one or two cameras. The strap is made of soft leather, which should make it even more comfortable. Also, you can get it in three different sizes, so the strap should fit your body type and height.
Other than being comfortable, the Fotcase strap promises to be perfectly safe for your gear. After all, it’s another really important aspect. You can attach to it any camera with a standard tripod socket. The creators point out that the leather belt comes with a stainless steel carabiner that can carry up to 500 kg. So I guess you can attach pretty much any camera with any lens to it. There’s also a second safety cord as an extra protection. Even if the main mount unscrews, the second safety cord won’t allow the camera to fall and break.
As for the design, you can choose the strap for your needs: there’s a “Cross one” option for carrying one camera and a “Cross two” option for carrying, you guess – two cameras. You can choose between brown and black leather, and as I mentioned, you can also pick the size: S, M or L. The strap is designed so your camera is always at hand, similar to BlackRapid straps.
Although I can’t know how comfortable this strap really is unless I try it, I must admit it seems comfy. It even looks rather stylish as well. Of course, since it’s a Kickstarter project, it will be funded if the goal is met, and it’s $15,000 in this case. If you still haven’t found the perfect way of carrying your cameras, maybe it’s worth a shot.
