According to screenshots posted on the OnePlus community forums, the latest update for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro allows users to open up to three apps in floating windows at the same time in Split screen mode. The devices will support seamless switching between Floating window and Split screen modes. The Clock app can now be used in Quick Return as well. In terms of gaming improvements, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are getting the HyperBoost end-to-end frame rate stabilizer. This should allow for a more stable and responsive gaming experience, with less frame rate fluctuations and latency. The Heterogeneous graphics feature will also enable smooth gameplay by intelligently handling various graphics elements in a game scene. It reduces gaming loads and power consumption. This feature only works with select games though. The latest update for the OnePlus 9 duo also brings the ability to open up to three phone windows on your PC. This should help with multitasking and productivity. Though not mentioned in the changelog, some users on the OnePlus community forums have reported receiving a RAM expansion feature as well. Depending on the free storage available, you can significantly increase the RAM of your OnePlus 9 or OnePlus 9 Pro. Despite the rollout beginning in the second half of May, the latest update doesn’t seem to bring this month’s security patch. This leaves the OnePlus 9 or OnePlus 9 Pro languishing on the April patch.

OnePlus is rolling out a big software update to the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro
Based on user reports on the OnePlus community forums, the latest update for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro started rolling out yesterday. As with most other OTA updates, this will also roll out incrementally. This means OnePlus will first test the new software package among a small group of users. If confirmed to be bug-free, it will gradually roll out the update to everyone globally. As always, you will get a notification once the update becomes available for your OnePlus 9 or OnePlus 9 Pro. But you can also manually check for updates by navigating to Settings > System > System updates on your phone. Wait a few days if you don’t see any pending updates today.
