The latest version of Photoshop has been released for desktop and iPad, and it contains an AI-powered feature that lets you tweak your subject’s age, gaze, and facial expression in just a few clicks. Motorsports are moving online due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it appears that automotive photographers are also finding new ways of shooting fast cars in action. Kunal Kelkar is a pro automotive photographer who has found a brilliant way to shoot fast cars without leaving his home. He put a model car onto a treadmill and got some epic photos that look like the real deal. At a glance, this image looks like an old photograph of five somewhat bored children posing for a family photo. And indeed, it is. However, it hides a certain macabre secret: the smallest child on the far left is actually dead and is propped up on a stand. To our modern standards, this seems rather creepy, but in the Victorian era, these ‘death portraits,’ as they became known, were very common....

The ISO capabilities in DSLRs and mirrorless cameras today is pretty amazing. But it’s not perfect. You’re still going to see an increase in noise as you ramp up the ISO, even if it’s not quite as bad as it used to be. But we all love clean, noiseless images, don’t we? Have you ever thought food photos can be racist? Neither have I. But Portland-based food photographer Celeste Noche declares Instagram food photography to be exactly this – “racist”. In the podcast on The Racist Sandwich, she addresses the issues of racism, as well as gender and class division in Instagram food photography. As a Filipino, she feels that Asian cuisine is represented in a racist way. I always thought food shots are just food shots, but Celeste gives quite an interesting point of view analyzing these photos....
