DONT PANIC! In honor of the upcoming International Towel Day and our deep love to the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy we are going to run a little fun contest. Up for grabs is the most intergalactic case we could master, the coveted Peli 1510 hard case. To win this gorgeous PELI case, all you have to do is to post an Hitchhiker’s-Guide-to-the-Galaxy inspired photo on the comments section: Towels, Robots, improbability and babel fish are welcomed.  Surprise us. On Towel Day, Photographer Dave K. Piper and The Team at Peli will select two winners and we will ship them the two Peli Cases.

The original quotation that explained the importance of towels is found in Chapter 3 of Adams’ work The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

About The Peli 1510 Case:

Whether you are travelling by plane, train or Heart of Gold, our Peli 1510SC will store and protect your camera gear as you travel the universe in search of that perfect shot. The case meets the carry on size for hand luggage with external dimensions of 559 x 351 x 229mm, has front and side handles and an extending handle with two exterior mounted wheels. More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: non-hitch hiker) discovers that a hitchhiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet weather gear, space suit etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitch hiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitch hiker might accidentally have “lost.” What the strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with. Hence a phrase that has passed into hitchhiking slang, as in “Hey, you sass that hoopy Ford Prefect? There’s a frood who really knows where his towel is.” (Sass: know, be aware of, meet, have sex with; hoopy: really together guy; frood: really amazingly together guy.)[3]—Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy The base has padded dividers which can be removed and reconfigured to suit the equipment at any given time. There is a detachable padded sleeve in the lid to keep your towel safe and clean if you are the kind of frood who likes to know where their towel is or fits a laptop up to 365 x 281 x 43mm if you’re not that together. A separate pouch will keep your hitchhikers guide handy or you can use it to keep stuff organised.
